Ayangbenro Modupeola has etched her name in history by becoming the inaugural winner of the annual student competition initiated by Architect Olusesgun Olanrewaju Aluko.
Modupeola, an HND I Mass Communication student at Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, outperformed numerous competitors to emerge victorious in the competition.
As a result, Modupeola was awarded a cash prize of ₦300,000, while the first and second runners-up received ₦200,000 and ₦100,000 respectively.
The competition, organized in honor of Architect Olusesgun Olanrewaju Aluko's birthday celebration, witnessed participation from students representing various departments within the institution. Contestants were evaluated based on their subject-specific knowledge and their proficiency in articulating their ideas.
Expressing her exhilaration, Modupeola expressed gratitude to Architect Olusesgun Olanrewaju Aluko for providing students with the opportunity to showcase their talents. She also extended her thanks to the judges for acknowledging her efforts and pledged to continue working hard to excel in her chosen field.
In his address, Architect Olusesgun Olanrewaju Aluko lauded the participants for their diligence and commitment. He expressed his delight regarding the competition's success and encouraged students to persistently pursue excellence in their academic pursuits.
The Architect Olusesgun Olanrewaju Aluko annual student competition is expected to become a regular event at the institution, offering a platform for students to exhibit their talents and vie for cash prizes.
Dr. Mukhail Akinde, the institution's recent rector, generously awarded each participant of the competition with ₦10,000. He praised the initiative for fostering healthy competition among students and nurturing academic excellence.
